Fire at McMinn family business may have been arson
News

State fire officials say a weekend fire at a family-owned business in McMinn County may have been set intentionally.

The fire broke out early Sunday morning in an RV parked outside a building that the family used to restore classic cars. Family members said the RV had been parked there for three years, with no electricity, no batteries, and no fuel inside.

The fire quickly spread to the building, and despite the fire station nearby, volunteer firefighters could not save it and four classic cars inside. Family members managed to save four other vehicles from the burning building.

Fire investigators say they are still working to determine what started the fire, but believe it could be arson.
