Worker injured at McMinn Co. iron foundry | News
An East Tennessee worker is being treated for burns sustained at the Waupaca Foundry in Etowah on Sunday.
The company confirmed on Monday that the employee is being treated at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. They did not release any details about the accident or identify the worker.
The company says it is conducting an internal investigation into what happened.
According to their website, Waupaca Foundry is the largest producer of gray, ductile, austempered ductile, and compacted graphite iron in the world, melting more than 9,500 tons a day.
