Hundreds of grams of crystal meth found in Sweetwater home


Police arrested a man after they found hundreds of grams of crystal meth in his Sweetwater home.

On Thursday, officials searched 41-year-old James David Bradley's home at 227 Country Road 298 as part of an on-going investigation. Inside, officers discovered more than 225 grams of crystal meth as well as cocaine and marijuana for resale. Police also found drug paraphernalia, two assault rifles and a pistol that was reported stolen in Loudon County.

Lawsuit dismissed against new Monroe Co. sheriff


One of two lawsuits against Monroe County's new sheriff has been dismissed.

UPDATE: I-75 reopened after fiery crash in McMinn Co.


(WBIR) A fiery crash closed northbound interstate 75 for a couple hours Sunday afternoon in McMinn County.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol said it worked two separate injury crashes within a few miles of each other.

Dispatch said one crash occurred near mile marker 34, while another was at mile marker 36. Both were single vehicle crashes.

Injuries were reported and life star went to each scene, according to THP. No word yet on the extent of those injuries.

Judge denies request to keep new Monroe sheriff from taking office


A special judge has denied a request for a temporary injunction that would have kept Monroe County sheriff-elect Randy White from taking office next week.

Current sheriff Bill Bivens and the county's Democratic party have filed separate lawsuits against White, claiming he is not qualified to serve as sheriff.

Special judge appointed to hear Monroe sheriff case


The Tennessee Supreme Court appointed a special judge to hear a lawsuit filed against Monroe County sheriff-elect Randy White.

The chairman of the Monroe County Democratic Party filed a lawsuit against White and the election commission before the election after an announcement that White wasn't certified to be on the ballot.
